Had septoplasty to improve breathing and broke nose 2 weeks later so had an MUA of nose. Since splint has come off and swelling is going down I can see that my nose doesn't seem to be straight. There is also a slight hump now on top causing a dip closer to the tip of my nose. I feel my nose is more towards the right of my face and my tip seems to be more droopy. What is best operation open or closes to make nose as symetrical as possible and can anyone recommend a very good surgeon for this?
Answer: Open or closed septorhinoplasty to straighten broken nose and achieve best results? Hello sunny2020,It will be important to wait until your nose has fully healed before you attempt to revise it for cosmetic purposes. This could be 6-12 months after your last nasal manipulation. All the structures, including the healing septum, will need time to strengthen before they are stressed again with surgery. The last thing you want is septal collapse, leading to a saddle nose deformity.Depending on your surgeon, what needs to be done to the nose, and if the tip will need surgery, will determine if an open or closed procedure would be appropriate.A consultation with a rhinoplasty specialist in your area would be recommended to determine your best course of action. I would bring photos of your face before the septoplasty to your consultations for comparison.Realself is a great place to start when looking for the best rhinoplasty surgeons in your area.I hope this helps.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Answer: It's possible you might want to consider a rhinoplasty You didn't mention how long it's been since the break, and some of the hump might be swelling, but it's unlikely that the droopy tip will come up with swelling resolution.See the "Web reference" link, just below my response. I made a computer morph, and an animation of the morph, to show the changes that are possible for your nose in truly expert hands. I elevated the tip and lowered the hump. You should understand that the changes I demonstrated in the morph require advanced techniques, techniques that most plastic surgeons cannot handle. Be sure to read the section in the "Web reference" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon.

Answer: Closed rhinoplasty to straighten the crooked nose A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish straightening the crooked nose, shaving down the dorsal hump, and lifting the nasal tip. A closed rhinoplasty approach makes all the incisions on the inside of the nose To perform the procedure. Revision rhinoplasty for a crooked nose is a very difficult endeavor, so choose your surgeon very wisely based on extensive experience. Answer: Closed Rhinoplasty I would recommend you have a closed rhinoplasty since the open rhinoplasty will leave a scar on the base of your nose. There's no need to open the nose for something like this. You will need to wait a few months after your previous surgery, but it can be easily done. I can straighten the crooked nose, shave the dorsal hump, and fix any other details that you might have, with a close rhinoplasty. Hope this answers your questions. Have a good day.
