Hello there! I have had a deviated septum for as long as I can remember. Now, at 25, it's became a big issue. My nose feels like it is literally clogged up everyday unless I use a nasal spray. I am wondering if plastic surgeons perform this surgery? Also, how could I remove the bump on the front of my nose? It's like extra cartilage on ONE side. I don't want to change the entire nose shape (even tho I don't really love it) but mostly that bump which makes it look crooked & maybe sides. Thanks!
Hello! I am a white 45 year old woman and have had a crooked nose with an asymmetrical bifid tip. Lately I am having more trouble breathing out of one nostril and Ive noticed that the septum looks more S-shaped and that the very tip seems twisted as much as 30 degrees. What procedure should I be looking into to fix this? Thanks very much for your advice.
To describe it simply its like if I put my finger in my right nostril and pushed it to the left so I cant breathe from that side I cant put my finger all the way in my left nostril because it is not straight on the inside What can I do ?
Just want to preface that I know my nose could be worse and there are things that I like about my nose (my side profile being one). But I have a pretty deviated septum and crooked columella which looks horrible on camera. Despite getting compliments on it irl and in photos from my good side I really want to add more harmony to my pretty asymmetrical face. Could a septoplasty address my concerns or would I need a rhinoseptoplasy? I dont want to change anything except the crookedness of my nose
I had the septoplasty on Oct 2023 , with spreader grafts and partial septoplasty. Ive since been back twice to see my surgeon. I complained both sides that my right nostril kept caving in , and I cant breathe at all out of the right side of my nose. He looked in and said it was fine and there was nothing else he could do , but that the turbinates are swollen. My nose now curves even more , and my nostrils are crooked and one caved in. Is this normal ?
I have always had a crooked nose, not due to injury. I have been told I have a deviated septum, and due to issues caused by it (mouth breathing/snoring, frequent nosebleeds) Im looking into septoplasty. With my nose being so crooked, whats the likelihood of it being straightened as part of the procedure and/or insurance covering any part of a rhinoplasty?
I have noticed since adolescence that my nose has been crooked. I have debated having a rhinoplasty to straighten my nose but am curious if a septoplasty, possibly covered my insurance, would fix my nose. I do not really experience problems associated with a deviated septum, the appearance is the most unpleasing part.
I had a septoplasty. The surgeon tried to tell me my nose was crooked after surgery because he needed to make it align to my crooked upper lip (both deviated to my left). Is it true that Ill have a crooked nose forever and a second surgery wont fix this? No ones face is symmetrical so why cant I have a straight nose when other ppl out there have asymmetries and their nose is straight (regardless of position of their upper lip). Id like to know if I can have a straight nose despite my lip
