I'm booked in to have breast implants, over the muscle with no lift in 2 weeks. I've recently started to have heart palpitations on and off. I've been to see my Doctor and she says it probably been due to my lifestyle change of a stressful job and also I've recently started to have my period again due to my contraceptive implant coming to an end. My doctor has booked me in for an ECG but it's not for another 2 months and my surgery is in 2 weeks. Do you think this will be a problem?

There is no harm in having the all green go ahead after your cardiac work-up, but not identifying a potential underlying cardiac issue can have dire consequences.If you are set on your surgery date, then I would try to find alternate options to move up your work-up. My anesthesia team and I would want a note from your physician stating that you have been fully evaluated and you are medically stable prior to undergoing any surgery. In addition, they should provide your plastic surgeon with a letter saying that you are in good shape medically to safely undergo breast augmentation and anesthesia. This is called a letter of medical clearance.
