Answer: How to remove scabbing following a hair transplant. ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA Dear TolgaSuley58, Thank you for posting this question. It appears as though you’re doing the correct thing. Perhaps use some hair conditioner...put it on the grafts for 15 minutes prior to a shower. Then hop in the shower and use your fingerpads to gently massage the grafts. A significant amount of the scabbing should come off. A few treatments of this over a few days should remove all of the scabbing if you’re 9 days out from our surgery. I hope this information is helpful to you. Kind Regards, Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS

Answer: No sign of scabs leaving You may start to wash your transplant area at second day of surgery with care and massage the transplant area gently so the scabs will fall off... After two weeks of hair transplantation it is acceptable to wash hairs as normal /preoperative period of surgery. All scabs should be cleaned with pressured (not gentle) massage to transplant area after 2 weeks .Dont forget that you may wash your head with normal pressure and if you need you can use a wet towel with soap for massage the scabby area, it Works very well to remove scabs .Patient may feel free to loosen any scabs on his/her head by massaging and that will not damage the grafts after 2 weeks .

Answer: Crusting on the head Residual crusting occurs when the crusts have not been washed off in the first day after the surgery. Now constant shampoo and leaving it on your head for 15 minutes, you will see the crusts come off in the wash, helped by gentle finger massage
