Answer: Lose weight post op I would definitely recommend to look for "The Zone diet" which is not in reality a diet, it is a new way of diet habits. But also you may consider attend a Nutritionist consultation. It is also a reality that do not exist magic diets, magic pills, magic shots. You have to combine a better eating habits and exercise (after 4 weeks postop you may try walking). It is also a myth the more you sweat the more you burn (fat). The perfect exercise to burn fat is walking 45-60 minutes, 4-5 days per week.I recommend my patients to wear the compression garment for only 6 weeks because the garment will help the skin to re-attach the muscle and retrain the swelling.Be encouraged.Dr. Cardenas

Answer: Post-liposuction Compression There are more qualified people than myself to answer your weight loss/nutrition question, but I can respond to your inquiry about compression garment use post-liposuction. Based on the evidence available in the medical literature (and the recommendations made by Jeff Klein, MD, the developer of the tumescent technique for liposuction), compression is crucial during the first 3 days after liposuction. Typically this is done with 2 layers of compression garments. After those initial 3 days, only a light compression garment is recommended, more so for its ability to make the treated areas feel better than for any physiologic benefit. Wearing 2 tight layers of compression after the first 3 days following liposuction can also prolong the duration of swelling and should not be used. Therefore, you can keep using a light compression garment if you prefer, but it will not have any effect on the final outcome.
