Dear Drs, I woud like to remove my 10 year old 300cc round silicone implants, I am 31 old, no kids, previously an 75A cup now a 75C. Shall I wait few months after my implant removal before doing a potential lift/areola reduction or is it better to try to reduce my areolas straight after the removal, with or without a lift? Is it worth adding vertical scars to get a better result - I have permanent sutures around my areolas but on one side my wound got seperated twice with stretched out scars.
Answer: Removal Once removed, I would suggest doing the lift at the same time unless your remaining breast tissue is very thin. an examination can tell if the lift can be done at the same time, or if you should wait.

Answer: #breastuplift following removal of #breastimplant with #PlasticSurgery Removal of the implants will lead to a deflated loose droopy breast envelope! Although removal of the implants will make the breasts smaller in volume, a simultaneous uplift will help give a good contour to the breasts and smaller neater areolae. For optimal outcome, please consult a fully qualified plastic surgeon, who has specialist qualification in plastic surgery 'FRCS Plast' after having being trained adequately in the field of plastic surgery, is registered on the 'Specialist register for Plastic surgery' with the General Medical Council and has been considered competent enough to be a member of the 'BAPRAS' (British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) and 'BAAPS' (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) at the least.

Answer: Should I wait after explant to get a lift and areola reduction, or in the same procedure? Should I get the lift? Hello and thank you for your question and sharing your photo. Generally speaking, after removal of breast implants, breasts will look smaller and deflated. Breast lift, if needed, is often performed at the time of removal. You can also consider fat transfer to your breasts for a natural volume enhancement. I would seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a full evaluation and advice. Best wishes and good luck, Pejman Aflaki, M.D. Johns Hopkins-trained double board-certified plastic surgeon

Answer: Will a lift be required after explantation? Hi and welcome to our forum! I expect some collapse of the breast following explantation. The presence of an implant effaces or stretches out the overlying breast tissue, soft tissue and skin. Following removal, the empty space will collapse upon itself. However, over time, at least partial correction is achieved naturally as the skin and soft tissues readjust over 3 months or so. As shape is important to you, you should consider a secondary breast lift as well if the shape proves unsatisfactory. We separate the procedures by at least 3 months. The need for secondary lift following explantation relates to the size of the implant, its duration of implantation, and overlying skin quality.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for in-person evaluation and discussion. Best wishes...
