Few hairs are getting easily pulled out with tweezers exactly 70 days after HT. Is it normal?

I had HT 70 days back, FUT 4100 Grafts. I notice few hairs still coming out with tweezers easily. I see no root at the end of hair and the hairs are thick. I am worried if they are new hair. Please let me know what it is exactly.

It is normal to shed transplanted hairs weeks after surgery.  The new hairs may take 6 to 12 months to grow.

After getting hair transplant operation, up to 3 months the hair will keep shedding. The permanent hair will start to grow after the third month. It is very normal that if you pull the newly transplanted hair with tweezers it will come out.

Thank you for your question. In 2-3 month after HT, some patients may experience losing their hair in the transplanted are which is referred as shock loss. It is very normal but still do not pull out your hair with tweezers.

Why are you pulling transplanted hairs out with tweezers? Its not uncommon to have some further shock loss after the treatment, even at this stage. But pulling the hair out is not ideal and you should stop this straight away. The new grafts should be growing through between 3-4 months post surgery. You should go and see your surgeon around 6 months post surgery with any concerns.

Why are you pulling your hair out with tweezers? If you are concerned about your growth you should contact your hair restoration clinic.Keep in mind that 70 days post op is still extremely early in the process, and your final result should not be judges until 12 - 18 months out.

That's a great question and one that I hear a lot.  It is not uncommon to have shedding following hair transplantation that can last 2 to 3 months after the procedure.  You are not losing actual follicles, just shed hair.  This happens as the newly transplanted follicles reestablish themselves in their new locations.  The best medicine is time - it takes 12 to possibly 18 months get the final result - one that should be tremendous following 4100 grafts.

Residual hair in the old grafts is not uncommon. Best to leave them alone and they will eventually shed in a shower or when the new hair grows
