I had a hair transplant done 8 months ago and I must say so far I am very happy with the results, but my only concern is were my temples were transplanted the texture is still very odd as if its like my beard hair, it is very brittle, dark and kinky if you understand what I mean. They did use my beard as well as my donor hair so I did mention if only my beard hairs were used on my temples, but I was told they mixed it and not to worry and that after a few more cycles the temples will blend in?

Ideally scalp hair is used as donor first prior to resourcing to the beard. Having said that, once the scalp donor hair is depleted the beard is a great alternative. The texture of the hair in the temples will be more like beard hair. However, transplanted hair regardless of their origin may look kinkier in the first year. Many people who experience this can expect softening of hair over time.

Judging from your question and photos, your temple hair was transplanted with beard hair, and therefore, is kinky and not like your scalp hair. I have never used beard hair as grafts to the scalp for that very reason because the hair is different in consistency, texture and waviness, and in some cases even color.
Common sense would tell me that beard hair will not change in character no matter where it is grafted to. However, full growth is at about 18 months, so maybe when it is thicker, it will not look so different.

Hair tends to keep the characteristics of where it came from, so the transplanted beard hairs will not be the same as native temple hair.  This may improve to an extent in time.

There are over 20 different hair types of the human body. They are all structured and behave differently i.e. eye lashes do not need to be trimmed but we have to cut our hair often. The texture of the hairs that were implanted into your temple area from the beard or the back of your scalp are very different than the hairs of the temple. Originally mesenchymal follicles are all the same. In the process of development under influence of growth and stimulating factors dependant on anatomical position on the body they grow to be different types or lines which needs to be served as needed for our body. So, if mature follicle is transferred from one part of the body to another it will appear and respond differently.
