I want to have cryolypolisis as I have some stubborn belly fat that wont go with gym and diet. I heard there are risk of tissue necrosis with the treatment. Is this true? What are the chances of someone fit and healthy having this problem? Many thanks in advance
Answer: Necrosis Risk This is not a risk assuming you go to a certified practice with RN's doing the treatments who don't risk any patients health and well being. The recommended settings are safe and well studied. We have done over 2000 treatments in my practice without any issues in regards to your question. We also follow Zeltiq's recommendations as to when treatments can be repeated etc. Hope that helps!

Answer: Tissue Necrosis after CoolSculpting? Tissue necrosis is actually tissue death or loss of blood supply to tissues caused by trauma or surgery. I have not seen this problem and the safety profile of this technology is extremely high. It is specifically regulated to shut off if there is not a good attachment BUT also if the tissues are getting too cold.Fat is the most sensitive to cold where as the skin and blood vessels and nerves are the most resistant. We do occasionally see nerve sensitivity and are recommending more Neurontin which can help for a few weeks but this always resolves.Necrosis would be a possibility as with any surgery or treatment but would be extraordinarily rare and I have never even heard of this as a documented complication ever occurring with Millions of treatments worldwide. All my Best!Dr Bengtson

Answer: Coolsculpting and Results versus Hi Definiton Liposuction I find that a hi definition contouring procedure does best for defining, but for a local reduction of fat coolsculpting or sculpsure are non invasive alternatives. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: No Tissue Necrosis With CoolSculpting The temperature on the CoolSculpting machine does not get low enough to damage anything other than the fat cells. There is no risk of tissue necrosis, permanent nerve damage, etc. Just make sure you find an experienced treatment provider that uses an actual CoolSculpting by Zeltiq machine and not a Chinese knock off. Best wishes.
