While flu-like symptoms are a potential side effect of Botox, it is not common. Your fever is likely from another source and the fact that you recently had Botox is probably a coincidence. I would see your primary care physician or your injecting physician should it persist. I wish you well!
Sophie,Botox does not cause fevers normally. Many times we associate symptoms we are having to a particular event whether or not they actually caused it. Its only natural to want to blame something and chances are your botox injections sticks out in your mind as the only thing different. Many times, the events are unrelated and thats why its important to follow up with your physician.I hope this was helpful,Dr. Daniel BarrettBeverly Hills, CA
After doing this for many years, multiple times per day, I this is is coincidence. There are reports of people having flu like symptoms after injections, but I do not this this is from the product itself. If you are concerned, in the future use Xeomin, which has no residual proteins and would be the least likely to initiate any reactions from injection. Best, Dr. Emer.
it is extremely unlikely that a botox injection would cause a fever. Much more likely is a possibility that you caught a viral infection... a cold? or maybe a urinary tract infection... something that is very minor and may only manifest as a brief fever as your immune system fights it off and you go on
It is highly unlikely the fever is caused by injection of Botox. I suspect this is a coincidence. Redness, drainage or increasing pain at the injection sites may indicate a rare but serious complication. In the extremely unlikely event you experience these problems, you should seek urgent treatment.
If properly administered, the risk of injection with Botox is extremely low. It is a coincidence that you have a fever from another source and you should see your primary care physician - if you have redness or swelling in the injected areas, seek the provider who did the Botox injections as soon as you can.
Dear Sophiejoe:Fever or temperature elevation following a Botox injection is unusual. It maybe related to:the proteins in the Botox suspension.a coincidental flu. Please visit your Primary Care Physician to evaluate you if the fever does not subside with in a day or 2, or if you should develop a high fever, sweats or chill. All the best!
It is unlikely that the botox treatment is linked with your fever assuming that you are going to an experienced physician injector with a good sterile environment.
I have had a few patients with flu like symptoms after Botox. It was usually within the first 24 hours and was very limited. It was repeatable so we were pretty certain it was the Botox. These people were not affected if changed to Dysport. It was probably coincidental that you had a fever.
To me there is no reason you cannot have botox/dysport if injected properly at the cosmetic doseages. If you have MG (myasthenia) then you should be very careful especially in areas that are already effected. You can confirm with your primary physician, but most will not know the...
Although BOTOX® and Dysport® are very similar, there are some formulation variances between the two products that are different enough to cause your body to react in slightly different ways. This can be particularly true if you switch from one product to the other, as your body may respond m...
The depression seems to worsen with movement suggesting that more Botox may be needed in the area surrounding this depression. Since it is also present at rest, a small amount of filler could be placed to help volumize and lift this area to the level of the surrounding tissue. Filler...
If the blurred vision is due to Botox it will resolve in approx 3 months when the Botox wears off. This is an uncommon side effect of Botox.
I would recommend that you wait for the Botox to wear off naturally rather than doing exercises. I'm sorry to hear that you dislike your results.
The antibiotic you are taking should not interfere with the botox. You may have another reason for the reason the botox isn't taking effect as expected. I suggest contacting the injector's office and scheduling a quick visit. Good luck.
