Hi all, I am due to shortly have my procedure in a couple of weeks. However i have only requested 7 days leave off work, my role does not involve much hard labor. It's office based, so majority of the time i have to sit down take calls etc. I'm just curious if i return back to work and start sitting down after my bbl will this ruin my chances of keeping a good amount of fat transfer in the butt area? Or ideally could anyone suggest something that might help me.
Answer: What is the recovery time for BBL surgery? Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. Postoperatively, no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions. The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed. Patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and vigorous exercise 4 weeks after surgery. We usually experience a slow steady improvement for 3 months or so after surgery.

Answer: Recovery time for BBL Thank you for your question! For my patients having a BBL procedure, I recommend that they take 7-10 days off of work, 3 weeks off of the gym from cardio exercises, and 6 weeks off of weights and yoga. I also recommend that they do not sit on their butt at all for the first 10 days after surgery, then at that time, they can start using the "booty buddy pillow" for 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks mark, they can sit directly on their butt. I recommend asking your plastic surgeon for his specific post operative instructions, as each surgeon's may differ. Best of luck!

Answer: What is the recovery time for BBL surgery? Hello,Thank you for you question. For the first two weeks after surgery, patients should avoid sitting for prolonged periods of time or sleeping on their backs. Recovery times vary, but patients are usually back to work after one to two weeks.Patients usually have two to four drains placed in the areas of the body treated with liposuction. These drains help speed recovery, decrease postoperative complications, and are generally removed in five to ten days after surgery. A postoperative compression garment is worn for six weeks to aid in healing and shaping of the body and buttocks following a Brazilian butt lift. Compression stockings must be worn for two weeks following a Brazilian butt lift to decrease the risk of blood clots and promote circulation. Please consult with your surgeon with any concerns about returning to your daily routine.Only plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery should be considered.

Answer: BBL and RTW (return to work) Thank you for the question. It is possible to return to work a week following BBL if the proper precautions are taken. First, you have to be conscious about lowering yourself into any sitting position as opposed to sliding into a seat as shear forces are probably more damaging to fresh fat grafts. You will have to make arrangements to sit while minimizing direct pressure on the fat grafts. Using a stool instead of a chair allows your bottom to “hang” over the edge of the seating surface. Another alternative is to sit on a solid foam cushion (a folded pillow works too) which elevates your bottom and allows it to hang over the edge. The cushion (which can be purchased on line) or pillow allows you to sit in a regular chair or car seat. The last option is to use a standing desk or elevated desk for several weeks if this is possible at your work place. I hope this answer helps.

Answer: What is the recovery time for BBL surgery? Most patients resume light daily activities, and return to work in about a week or 10 days (no heavy lifting) after surgery. I recommend my patients to avoid sitting for two weeks after surgery. Since each surgeon has a slightly different post op protocol consult your surgeon for instructions.
