When will I be able to sleep on my sides after a tummy tuck?

I'm 5 weeks one day after abdominoplasty I still not able to sleep on my side when I do try it feels very weird n uncomfortable any suggestion ? As well I'm still swollen I had 2000 cc taken out n 5 lbs of skin can u please tell me how many liters is this 2000cc I was 195lbs n I'm losing weight which I'm very thrill but still see so much swolling

Hello,I find that most Tummy Tuck patients can sleep comfortably on their side by 5 weeks post-op however I recommend that you share your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon as they know your individual case the best.Take care

Hello, most people will be able to sleep on their side 5 weeks after surgery but I'd recommend confirming your postop activities with your PS.  Also 2000cc = 2 litres.

Hi, Ninalingo.  Congratulations on your recent surgery!  5 weeks post-op, you should be able to stand up straight and sleep flat or on your side.  However, you may still feel tight for couple more months.In regards to swelling, patients heal and recover from surgery differently.  It is normal to have swelling.  Most of the swelling should be gone by 3rd months although the final result of tummy tuck can take up to 6 months.  Be patient and follow your plastic surgeon's post-operative instruction.  Best wishes with your continued recovery.  2000 cc = 2 Liters.
