Earlobe Surgery Newport BeachEarlobe reduction and repair Split earlobes, torn earlobes, earlobe plug holes, and earlobe reduction Who is a candidate?#EarlobeReduction surgery asrequested five patients who have extensively large earlobes that may be largefrom family traits, aging, the use of very large earrings or plugs, or previousfacial surgery. #TornEarlobes can occurwhen an earing is caught on something pulling it through the lobe. This willresult in a #SplitEarlobe or #CleftEarlobe. The use of ear plugs and largepiercings create large holes which require reconstruction to reform a normalappearing lobe. Its not likely that these will shrink enough. but they will a little
Thank you for your question and photo.Sorry to say but your earlobes will not shrink back or close by themselves. A surgical repair is required. Contact a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Best of luck
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no better way to help you than surgery to repair and resize the earlobes. I would visit with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss options.
Thank you for your picture. Unfortunately, there is not a non-surgical method to shrink a gauged ear lobe. Surgery is the only method of correction.
No im sorry. Earlobe repair is a very common procedure. Frequently, we have patients who will have the procedure done the same day as the consultation. Typically, the cost is between $450-850 per earlobe, depending on the severity and the length of the procedure. You may be able to find a doctor who will do this under insurance but i am not aware of any.The length of time the ears have been gauged should have no effect on the procedure. As long as the tissue is no longer irritated or inflamed, there is no reason not to give it a try. Gauged ears are sometimes more difficult than some other earlobe repairs since the tissue is so over stretched, but we are still able to create a natural looking earlobe. You can get your ear re pierced about 6 weeks after and should be included in the pricing. Shop around in your area and see if you can find a plastic surgeon in your budget
There is really no non-surgical method to make stretched earlobes smaller. Surgery can be done to close the loop or it could be done to make the loop smaller. If surgery is done to make the loop smaller, the skin will not be as strong as normal, so it would not be possible to put any stretch or tension on the loop after the surgery.
Once you've stretched your earlobes, you can expect the earlobe defect to shrink some over a few weeks once you stop wearing any earlobe jewelry.HOWEVER, after a few weeks of not wearing jewelry this hole will NOT get any smaller. The only option to close the holes you are left with will be to undergo a repair of the stretched earlobe with a surgical procdure. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for posting the photos and question. Unfortunately the earlobe has been stretched significantly and as you can see there is a lot of loose skin. There is no way of shrinking this enough to restore the shape of the earlobe. You will need to have a surgical procedure to reconstruct the earlobe as we will need to remove some of the skin as well.
If you leave out the earrings, or gauges, then the skin and scar tissue will want to contract on their own. Unfortunately, in your circumstance, they will never close on their own without surgery. The good news is that ear lobe repair is a relatively simple procedure that can be done under local anesthesia in the doctors office. It comes with a very high satisfaction rate. I recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon to give you the best opportunity for it to be done correctly the first time, So you are less likely to have to pay for any revisions in the future. I wish you all the best.
This is most likely irregular, hypertrophic scarring, known as a keloid. It isn’t a health risk, but it can be uncomfortable to deal with since it may be itchy, as you know, or sometimes painful. There are a number of treatments that can help you get rid of this, including surgery.
Earlobe repair is a common procedure in our plastic surgery office. I employ a technique that involves removing the excess scar tissue and reapproximating the tissue planes in multiple layers to recontour the earlobe after gauges, torn earlobes, or stretched out earlobes. Sometimes, the same...
Earlobe surgery is composed of several techniques that can either repair torn earlobes (split earlobes) or correct overly redundant earlobe tissue from piercings or genetics or stretching. Our HIDEF earlobe repair includes a recontouring of the earlobe contour using multilayered sutures to...
