I’ve got a medium sized lip implant in my top lip. I’ve had it since 2017. I would like to get a lip lift for a fuller top lip. Is this procedure okay to do with a lip implant in ?
Answer: Can I have a Lip Lift if I already have a Lip Implant? Surgery is not performed at the actual site of the lip implant because I place the lip lift incision at the nasal base and perform a deep plane dissection typically extending halfway down the philtrum. However, your lip implant is still at risk for issues for various reasons. For example, if you develop an infection, it could theoretically involve your lip implant and necessitate removal. Lip implants are typically placed in the center of the lip. Some things I would want to do are confirm the implant's location, check for signs of implant migration or exposure, and check for visibility of the implant and the general appearance of the lip when the lip while manually lifting the lip.

Answer: Lip Implant and Lip Lift -- See an expert The implant shouldn't interfere with the procedure. I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. Technique is key so you'll want to see someone meticulous. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Lip lift and lip implant The lip implant will not interfere with the lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. The combination of the lip implants and lip lift may make the lip too big but can only be determined with more information and photographs. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
