My left side of my face droops, I’m really self conscious of it to the point I won’t let anyone take photos of me now. My kids are noticing I’m not in photos with them. What can I do?
Answer: Facial droop Thank you for your question and photograph. Your photograph indicates that you do, in fact, have some skin laxity and more volume on the right side of your face as compared with the left. My advice is to seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. You may want to consider a lower face/neck lift that would include some liposuction of the lower jowl. Best of luck.

Answer: Facial asymmetry... Hi AmyLouise123,Please know that everyone is asymmetric if you really look. Sometimes these asymmetries become more prominent as we age.Certain procedures can help with asymmetry, but you can never be perfectly symmetric.I suggest you go for a consultation with an experienced facial plastic surgeon, as the photo is not enough to make specific recommendations. And, above all else, please don’t miss the opportunity to share the camera with your kids, regardless of your appearance. At the risk of sounding trite, life is short— and you’ll deprive them of the memories.Best wishes,Dr. Jay

Answer: Droopy left side of face Hello amylouise123, Thank you for your question and sharing your images. It is difficult to assess from one image, but you appear to have some significant facial asymmetry. You may benefit from procedures such as fillers or fat transfer. I would recommend in person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. I hope this is helpful. All my best! Answer: Facial Asymmetry It is important to know we all have varying degrees of asymmetry between the two sides of our face (I always tell patients I have one ear noticeably higher than the other). In the picture you provided it does appear that the left side of your face has some volume discrepancy compared to the right. Some people are even born with one side of the face being slightly larger than the other and it would be important to bring pictures of yourself when you were younger to your consultation. You can often get some improvement with fillers by trying to even out the two sides, but it is so important to have realistic expectations. It is very unlikely to achieve anything approaching perfect symmetry, but often times you can get a nice improvement. Hoped this helped, good luck!!

Answer: Facial Asymmetry Thanks for the question. Based on the front view photo, you do appear to have more volume on the right side of your face than the left. The potential causes of this are too numerous to list but an in-office exam by a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended to determine the exact cause. The treatment will depend on the underlying cause for the asymmetry. That being said, facial asymmetries are very common and there are a variety of options for treatment.
