Is there a limitation in advancement in Mandibular Advancement Surgery?

I previously consulted with specialists and they said I have a mandibular hypogenesy. My chin point is approximately 1.5-2 cm behind my upper lip. Is there any limitations to advancement of mandible? I heard beyond 8 mm there may be complications
