I am unsure of exactly what makes my eyes do this, which is why I don't truly know what I need. I've heard simply botox for my hooded lids or an endoscopic brow lift, but I'm not sure. It's like my brows are lopsided or one eye is severely hooded and the other isn't. Please let me know what I need to correct this! it's awful and shows in every photo!

Answer: Correcting asymmetric hooded eyes.. A mini forehead lift done at the hairline so as not to raise your hairline should be done on the low side. I would not try to lower the high eyebrow. If you try to do this with the endoscopic lift you'll end up with your hairline raised on that side. You need an Irregular Trichophytic approach at the hairline which will not be seen if properly done.

Answer: Factors that contribute to eyelid asymmetry go beyond the skin, but surgery can make eyelids more symmetrical It seems that what you are experiencing, based on the several photos you’ve submitted, is the reality that we all have a certain amount of asymmetry—some more prominent than others. We are, after all, beautifully imperfect. In fact, there are very few people in the world who are truly fully symmetric. In a case such as yours, my general approach would be to do a blepharoplasty, which is a procedure that shapes the eyelid so that it goes inward, thus ultimately improving the overall symmetry. One type of test that I like to do is the Q-tip test, wherein I use a Q-tip or a little eyelid creasing instrument to push back the upper eyelid skin and see how it would look if you were to have a blepharoplasty. By doing this, I am able to also give the patient an idea of what they will look like so they can decide whether they want to pursue that option or not.Another option you can consider is Botox on the left brow only, however this would create asymmetry when you raise your brows. In addition to that, because you’re still young, it would look a little unusual to have that lack of activity that Botox can cause in that area. You may also not be inclined to have regular Botox injections. To address a case like yours, I would normally perform a cosmetic upper eyelid blepharoplasty, which can be done on one eye, or both. Many of my patients who’ve undergone this procedure are happy with the results they get because of the symmetry that is achieved, and are thus able to do things like put on eyeshadow again. It’s important to keep in mind that it is extremely rare to make someone 100% symmetric due to the fact that we are not only dealing with soft tissue alone, but also with the underlying bone structure as well.So meet with a specialist, learn about these options, and have the eyelid creasing done so that you have a better idea of what the outcome will be. I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck, and thank you for your question. This personalized video answer to your question is posted on RealSelf and on YouTube.
