I had botox almost 3 weeks ago in 2 areas. (frown & upper forehead). I am becoming severly distressed with the results - the botox has caused my eyebrows to drop, and in turn my eyelid to push down over my bottom lid. I cannot move my eyebrows at all. The Doctor is suggesting I go back for the top-up which he told me about originally but I am absolutely terrified if he injects anymore botox the effects wont work as I want them to. Please help.
Answer: You appear to have a nice result after your forehead Botox. The heaviness and immobility of your forehead will dissipate soon. You could discuss a dose-adjustment with your doctor, but since you're distressed, it may be best to let nature take it's course.Wishing you well.

Answer: It would be more of a correction I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience. It looks like it is a result of improper placement or possibly too much being injected. You should speak to your physician about his plan for correcting the problem. What you want to hear is that he will do a correction as opposed to a top up. Botox works by weakening the muscles. When one muscle is weakened, the other one pulls in the opposite direction. That's why you're experiencing the drop. The muscles are not strong enough to hold the brow up. While it's possible to fix things like "Spocking" (where the eyebrow goes too high), it would be difficult to fix a drop due to gravity. You may want to consider going to another doctor for a second opinion as well. If you don't like what your original injector is telling you, then switch to someone you trust more the next time.Whatever the case, please don't be too upset. The effects of Botox are temporary and you should see a gradual improvement in your face over the next 2 to 4 months as the muscles regain their strength. Please take a look at my YouTube channel for more information on Botox and how it should be injected.

Answer: Drooped eyebrow from Botox. Hate the results. Will a top-up help? You definitely don't want any more Botox in the forehead area. If you do have any remaining movement in the brow depressor muscles very conservative injections could give you a small amount of lift in the brow. The other option would be to wait it out and hopefully this issue will only last a few more weeks. Best of luck.

Answer: Drooping Brows After Botox Hi Rebecca. Sorry to hear about your Botox experience. This has happened either because of improper placement of the Botox, or because too much was injected. I definitely would not do a "top-up" as this could just make matters worse. It would have been nice to see your before pictures to see the degree of brow droop you are experiencing. Either way, the best thing to do is just give it time for the Botox to slowly wear off. This can take 2-4 months, but rest assured that everything will eventually go back to normal. Next time make sure you find an experienced physician injector. Best of luck to you.

Answer: What do you do if you get a complication of Botox? Sorry to hear about your trouble. This problem can happen from time to time if even a small amount of extra botox is injected into your muscles. If you get too much of the medication in the areas you mention, your eye brows will most certainly fall. If you can not move your eyebrows at all, the odds of a top-up working are very low. Based on this, I would tell people just to wait and let the effect wear off. You may end up getting even more of a problem. Its difficult, but obviously see your treating physician to ensure they are confident more units will help. If you'd like to learn more about Botox and why this happens, feel free to take a look at an article i recently wrote on this topic. James P.
