Going to a doctor with limited or no ethnic rhinoplasty experience - is this a good idea?

Hello I’m a 25 year old female hoping to get a nose job in September. I live in Belgium and was thinking about getting the procedure done in Belgium or flying to turkey. I have found expert surgeons in both countries. The surgeon in turkey has ample ethnic rhinoplasty experience but I’m a bit worried about follow-up, possible complications and so forth. Getting the nose job done in Belgium means I’m closer to my surgeon but I’m not too sure about his experience with ethnic nose jobs ( I asked his clinic and didnt get a straight forward answer). My question is do I go to Turkey for the experience or stay in Belgium? Can an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon with little or no experience with ethnic nose operate on an ethnic nose? Please help me. Thank you

Great question. Ethnic rhinoplasty involves special techniques for achieving a desirable result. Rather than reducing the tip, often done in Caucasian rhinoplasty, an ethnic rhinoplasty often requires adding support and grafts to achieve a more defined and attractive shape. Therefore, experienced surgeon would be a better choice in my opinion. 
Rhinoplasty is a pretty straightforward surgery so we don’t expect complications. However, in a rare instance, you should be able to contact your surgeon if/when needed. 
I recommend you choose a clinic that provides constant care and follow up after going back home. Best of luck to you.

As far as I can understand from your question, it's important to search well and I recommend you find a Dr. specialist about Ent and facial plastic surgery.
It would be better face to face consultation.

In general, I recommend that people keep their rhinoplasty surgeon close to home for the reasons that you enumerated. I don't think it would hurt to go on a consultation with the surgeon that is an expert, close to home. You could ask this surgeon whether or not he would treat your nasal tip differently than somebody within skin. If you have a funny feeling after meeting with him, always go with your gut. You decide that turkey would be the best place to find an experienced surgeon, consider taking a trip to consult with three or four experts and then decide which would be best for you moving forward. Hello and thank you for your question. You should definitely select a surgeon with lots of long-term before and after pictures on their website demonstrating the ability to do noses similar to yours. The key is longterm follow-up pictures. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
