I'm a 220 lbs, 5'9'', 32 y/o lady, down 100 lbs. I've been ~210 for 2+ yrs. My goal weight is 190, but I seem to maintain ~210 despite efforts. I got 2 opinions on a lift. 1 doctor said I had to have a BMI
Answer: Undergoing a Body Lift After 100 Pound Weightloss Thank you for your question regarding if you should get a body lift or get liposuction. Since you have lost 100 pounds and have plateaued for over two years, I suggest you undergo your body lift now. In my opinion, liposuction is unnecessary. It. would be ideal if you reach your goal weight with a low BMI; however, this may be unrealistic and never attainable. Considering your weight loss history, I think you are ready now with your body lift. I hope I've answered your question; what weight you should have your body lift.

Answer: Body contouring A physical exam is really required to give you any meaningful advice. Most plastic surgeons refer to a body lift as a circumferential body lift = belt lipectomy = lower body lift. This procedure is essentially 3 procedures in one: extended tummy tuck + waist/lateral thigh lift + buttock lift (with the option of buttock augmentation). Please visit with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who has extensive experience in body contouring after weight loss to learn more about your options.Best wishes,Dr. BasuHouston, TX

Answer: Ideal weight before body lift. BMI < 25 Congratulations on your weight loss and thanks for sharing your question. Straight to your questions: A great result can be achieved, if you are able to loose some pounds prior to your procedures. The ideal BMI is less than 25. The lower the better. This will reduce your risks for complications, and give you nicer contours. You can find your BMI online Make sure that you have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in after weight loss surgery. Wishing you the best in your journey

Answer: When to get a body lift Congratulations on your weight loss. Most of us recommend that our patients who are considering a body lift be as close as possible to their ideal body weight. Additionally, we prefer for patients to be weight stable for at least 3 months. If the liposuction makes you feel better about yourself prior to the body lift, then you should do it. Be advised that most patients don't lose a significant amount of weight following liposuction. Best of luck on your continued weight loss journey.

Answer: Timing of body lift surgery Thank you for your question. I usually recommend that you get down to the lowest weight that you can with diet and exercise that you can comfortably MAINTAIN over the long term. I have seen too many people try to crash diet down to a goal weight only to have their desired cosmetic surgery and then gain it all (or a lot) back! Your best surgical result happens when you are in the best shape you can be in and your surgical result is best maintained with a stable postoperative weight. Substantial gains or losses postop could dramatically change your result. Best of luck to you!
