Would I benefit a nose job or chin fillers?

Question

I dislike my side profile. I feel my chin is weak and my nose is large. I don't know which bothers me most. Does my chin appear weak? If I got chin fillers would my nose look less large? Or would it still look large. I don't know if my nose sticks out of my face too much or if my weak chin makes it appear that way. My chin is also quite long so I would worry if chin fillers may make it look longer. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your question about rhinoplasty and chin augmentation. Based on your photos, you have a very nice nose as is. If anything, you might consider a very conservative tip plasty to refine your nasal tip, which appears to slightly dive downwards. However, this is such a small change it may not be worth your while to undergo surgery. You are, however, an excellent candidate for a chin augmentation. While dermal fillers are one option to create volume in the chin area, I recommend considering a small chin implant. A well-placed chin implant will balance your profile nicely and offer more facial harmony. Commonly, rhinoplasty and chin implant procedures are performed at the same time, which will consolidate downtime. Without an exam your question cannot be answered.  You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. photograph, you may benefit from a nasal tip deprojection and a conservative dorsal hump reduction.  In regards to your chin, it is difficult to fully evaluate with these pictures alone.  You benefit from a small chin implant to help improve your profile.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and not just a computer animation system. The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate
you in person.

In my opinion you have a very attractive face that may not merit any treatment whatsoever. I would encourage you to sit down was a good plastic surgeon using video imaging is a way of determining what would make you feel better about your appearance. The therapy to get you there could then be discussed.

The photographs demonstrate an overly projecting nose with a dorsal hump and a weak and recessive chin profile.  In our practice, we do not recommend fillers placed in the chin because its temporary and just does not work very well in that location.  Chin implants offer a much better alternative since   they offer a 3-dimensional augmentation  which is permanent.  A conservative closed rhinoplasty can accomplish shaving down the dorsal hump, decreasing the overall projection, refining the tip and narrowing the bridge line.  Both procedures are complementary to each other for facial balance and proportions.  For more information and many examples of the combination of rhinoplasty with chin implants, please see the link and the video below

The best approach would be to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with measurements of your face and 3D imaging. Those images can be morphed so you can see what it would look like with a smaller nose and more prominent chin. This will take the guess work out of what would look best on you. Good luck
