Is it normal to fat graft 450cc and only put in 150cc?

Breast implant-based reconstruction is commonly combined with fat transfer for breast reconstruction. The best breast implant size for optimal results depends on your breast size prior to reconstruction, your frame, and your goals. A 150cc implant is a very small implant, particularly for breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Sometimes a smaller implant is used on the contralateral side (side not affected by breast cancer) to help balance the size in cases where only one breast is removed. Asymmetry after the first stage reconstruction is not uncommon, especially in cases of unilateral (one-sided) breast cancer reconstruction. This asymmetry can be addressed with secondary revision surgeries and may include a change in implant size, combining implants with fat transfer, addition of an internal bra to change implant placement, or even considering free tissue transfer (flap) in addition to an implant.
