Can I apply Fucidin cream on the rash around my nose after a rhinoplasty (15 days post-op)? (Photos)

Question

I started getting an itchy skin around the corner of my nose around 13 days post my rhinoplasty. I think it may be due to the glue left by the tape but i am afraid that it may be something else? is applying fuicidin on the region helpful in such cases? (I wouldve asked my surgeon about this but I traveled few days post my operation and it is difficult to contact him)

The picture looks most like a contact dermatitis or hydrocortisone cream might be useful. Nevertheless the condition should be reported to your own surgeon and treated as such.

Dear fg1998, You should be able to reach your surgeon regardless of what country the surgeon is in. I personally perform rhinoplasty procedures on patients from many different countries and many different time zones. They all have my personal cell number so they can call anytime. Send an email to your surgeons office to set up a Skype or Facetime call that works for both of your schedules so that you may follow up with any questions you may have during your recovery. Fucidin Ointment is used to treat various forms of skin infections caused by varying bacterias. Your surgeon would need to prescribe the usage of this cream. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
