I had CoolSculpting about 2 and a half weeks ago and I look worse than before, will my stomach stay like this?

While most patients do have a resolution of swelling 2 weeks post-CoolSculpting, everyone is different. You can help your body eliminate the destroyed fat cells and heal from the procedure with manual massage. You might also want to wear Spanx during the day to make yourself feel more comfortable. Your swelling should completely subside by a month post-procedure. Your results won’t be visible until at least 3 months after your treatment. If you don’t notice an improvement by then, be sure to consult the board-certified dermatologist who treated you.

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. Swelling can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. Keep in mind, some people need more than one treatment of Coolsculpting and for best results with Coolsculpting, I recommend a combination approach. The swelling you are experiencing is totally normal. Everyone does respond differently post treatment with CoolSculpting.  Although 2-3 weeks is the norm, there is no exact time period one can expect the swelling to last.  It is very common for patients to say they feel like they are pregnant post treatment with CoolSculpting. Keep in mind that some patients do experience swelling up to a month or even six weeks, in rare cases. The good news is that it will eventually go down, and you have not ruined your body.  Just hang there. Good luck with everything!

It is not uncommon for some patients to experience swelling after abdominal treatment. These side effects are temporary and will subside. Full results can take up to 12 weeks, depending on the patient. Typically, more discomfort is experienced with the original CoolSculpting applicators (60 minute treatment) versus the CoolSculpting Advantage (35 minute treatment). This is due to the original CoolSculpting applicators creating a more intense vacuum seal around the tissue. Try to follow up with the facility where you underwent your treatment, if you have too much discomfort.

Hello and thank you for your question. Everyone's body reacts differently to the treatment. Some people tend to stay bloated and have discomfort for a few weeks post treatment. Likely this is just residual swelling.  Try wearing some compression garments during the day.  If you continue to be concerned please follow up with your treating physician.

I do not take early post treatment photos of patients until at least 6 weeks after CoolSculpting (CS). I tell patients in advance that they may desire a second or more sessions after the 25% reduction in fat provided by CS. as with liposuction lymphatic massage helps to accelerate the reduction in swelling that occurs after knocking out those fat cells. Hang in there and please keep your appointment with your MD (usually 4-6 weeks after CS). Hope this helps.
