Is it safe to get Cool Sculpting when you have a lot of allergies, should I have any concerns?

I am considering cool sculpting but I have a lot of allergies. Food allergies like wheat and soy. I am also allergic to a lot of medication and latex. I also have very sensitive skin. Would It be safe for someone like me?

There are no contraindication for Coolsculpt and food allergies. Make sure to discuss your allergies with your allergies with your provider specially any latex allergies.

Hello,Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting is a very safe and easy procedure. Based on what you said there shouldn't be a problem. With that being said, you need to consult with a local physician and make sure that you go over all of your medical history so they can be sure that there won't be any complications.

Since CoolSculpting is completely noninvasive, you should not have any problems with allergies after the treatment. Make sure to discuss your full medical history with your CoolSculpting specialist before proceeding so they have all the information they need to advise you on how to proceed. Some precautions (like using non-latex gloves) should be taken by the staff before your treatment.

The only allergy that poses a problem for CoolSculpting is an allergy to cold, which is called Cold Urticaria. Other than that, you should be fine. There are no contraindications regarding food allergies. We always use latex free gloves, you will want to be sure and make sure that your provider is aware of your latex allergy prior to treatment. Coolsculpting is a safe, non-invasive treatment that has very few contraindications.  Allergies to food and medications are typically not a problem with Coolsculpting but an allergy to cold may be.  If a client is concerned with any health related issues we always recommend they discuss their health history with their family doctor before having treatment.  Full disclosure of all health related issues with your Coolsculpt technician is also very important as it allows us to ensure a safe and effective treatment plan to achieve your individual needs.

Luckily there are very few contraindications to CoolSculpting that are quite rare and don't affect the majority of patients; food allergies are not among them. When filling out your Treatment Considerations Form, be sure to discuss any allergies or potential health concerns with your specialist and the treatment staff. At Imagine Body Sculpting Centers we use non-latex gloves, but its always good to call ahead and make sure the office you go to can be prepared for your visit.

the only concern i would have would be with  the fructose (fruit sugar-looks like honey or goo) soaked gel liner that is applied to the device before each treatment. This liner is in direct contact with the body area being treated with CS.
You may want to ask the CS provider if you can take one of those gel liners and try it on your skin at home before you invest any more time and effort on pursuing this treatment.

It is totally safe to have CoolSculpting no matter what allergies you have.  This is one reason that so many patients choose CoolSculpting instead of surgery which can complicate the situation in patients with other health issues.
