Am I a candidate for upper eyelid surgery? (Photo)

Based on the photo you provided it looks like you do have some upper eyelid skin redundancy and would be a good candidate for an upper blepharoplasty. Whether you would benefit from a brow lift would be dependent on where your eyebrows sit in relation to your supraorbital rim (the bony part of your upper eye socket) and your forehead size, hairline, and hair density. Typically an upper blepharoplasty is relatively easy to recover from and has minimal downtime. Incisional scars are hidden within the upper eyelid fold. Hope this is helpful.

You have a strong compensatory eyebrow elevation. Basically your forehead is being activated to compensate for what is going on in the eyelids. The photo you have provided does not suggest that you have upper eyelid ptosis. What you have is called latent ptosis. This is ptosis that is masked by the compensatory eyebrow elevation. An in person examination is likely to confirm that your have bilateral central levator disinsertion or partial disinsertion. Over time the upper eyelids will get heavier. In the mean time, you carry the eyebrows in an abnormally high position. The fix is what is called anchor blepharoplasty with a repair of the disinserting levator aponeurosis. This repair allows the eyebrows to relax down into a more natural position. Whoever you have consulted does not know their eyelid anatomy.

From the submitted photo it does not appear you have eyelid ptosis, however your brows are held in a higher position. It is best to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person evaluation to discuss your concerns and learn more about your options.
