I had smooth skin and after microneedling ended up with holes and enlarged pores, the nose and chin bother me the most. Some people have mentioned various resurfacing lasers that could help, but being as though the technology sounds similar—creating damage so that the skin will heal itself—are lasers likely to make my skin worse? For whatever reason my skin did not properly repair itself after microneedling and I am worried this same thing will occur after laser.
Answer: LaseMD to help shrink down large unwanted pores Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Enlarged pores after microneedling In my opinion, CO2 laser would be the best solution to decreasing pore size. If you are concerned about making it worse, you can start with a less invasive IPL laser to get some improvement. Hope this helps

Answer: Can laser repair holes in skin and enlarged pores after microneedling? This is a great question and there are a combination of treatments to help the concerns of repairing/minimizing pores. The Co2 Resurfacing treatment is a great option which will not only help with the pores but also the fine lines and any hypopigmentation. After this treatment I would recommend maintaining the skin with dermal infusions every 4 to 6 months.

Answer: Treatment options for enlarged pores Enlarged pores can be addressed using a variety of treatment options. Laser resurfacing is often a good choice, as long as the laser used is customized to your precise needs and skin tone. You might also consider a different collagen induction therapy, such as fractionated laser or RF microneedling. These treatments are typically very effective in treating enlarged pores when they are administered by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist. However, customization is the real key to success. In my practice, we offer more than 45 laser options so we can tailor treatments with the precision necessary to achieve an optimal outcome for all our patients.

Answer: Laser Resurfacing Hello and thank you for your question! There are a couple different laser therapies that I would recommend, Laser Genesis and Pearl. Both of these will improve the appearance of your skin as well as the texture and tone. They vary in level of aggressiveness, and the option you choose will depend on your personal preference. Laser Genesis is a great option for improving skin texture, enlarged pores, and tone as well as treating hyperpigmentation. Our office uses this laser to treat facial redness and other forms of hyperpigmentation. This is a non-invasive laser that gently heats the dermal layer just below the surface of the skin. This stimulates the production of new collagen, which will be used to reduce the appearance of pigmented lesions. It will also help with the overall tone and texture of your complexion as well as with minimizing pore size. If you would prefer a more aggressive approach, I would suggest the Pearl laser. The Pearl reaches a deeper level of skin cells in order to completely renew the outer layer of skin. By doing so, it completely removes the top layer of skin cells in order to reveal the healthy, vibrant layer underneath. This does come with more downtime as your skin has to take a little longer to heal itself, about 3-4 days. Your skin will look and feel as if you have a sunburn, and as such you will need to apply ointment to it until it peels. Both of these are great treatments for your concerns. I would suggest that you look up medical providers in your area who offer one or both and set up a consultation to determine which treatment would be best for you. Hope this helps!
