Is it possible to use laser to lighten or remove part of my areola pigment?

Is it possible to use laser (e.g. Q-switched or picosecond lasers) to lighten or remove part of my areola pigment? I’m light-skinned with tan/brown areola. I have an adjacent pink scar that has slightly distorted one areolar border. The scar is from a lump removal when I was a child, and I’m now looking at options to improve the appearance. I have seen a plastic surgeon who said she could excise the areola and scar and reattach it to match the other side, but this would leave a circular scar around the entire areola, and there is also a risk of stretching. I CO2 laser can help improve the scar, I am wondering whether Q-switched or picosecond lasers are ever used to subtly adjust areolar pigment at the border to improve symmetry. I have looked everywhere online and I can’t see anything about this.
