Normally during orthodontics, not much can/should be done. In this case, the braces likely prevented WORSE damage.However, the chipped part needs fixing. Tips of teeth are hard to fix (will likely break off easily) so be patient. After the braces are off, veneers or crowns can be placed, and root canal therapy may be needed as well (if root canals are needed, that CAN be done during the braces treatment).
Hi from Richmond Hill! I would take the easy way out and just leave the tooth alone. No one really sees this but you. Doing a crown or Veneer and taking the tooth down would not be necessary and you loose most of your natural tooth. Just be careful and try not to bang any fork...
A chip is most often fixed with a filling, at worst a veneer or crown. Since it doesn't hurt, the nerve likely isn't involved which would require a root canal. When teeth get fixed before they hurt, it costs less to fix.
It sounds like tooth #30 wouldn't be worth fixing by your description. Seeing an x-ray would be helpful, or even a picture. 'Heroic dentistry' could possibly patch it up for a while, but it wouldn't last and you'd be in the same position having to get it extracted.If the tooth is not able to be...
