Abdominal doming, separation and expansion is pronounced, along with umbilical hernia. How will normal body contour be restored? Is it true that DR repair only fixes horizontally by no more than 2cm and does not fix vertically? Will I get my abs back post-op and over time with the proper core PT?

If you find the right general surgeon they can consider doing a laparoscopic repair of the umbilical hernia with full diastasis repair at the same time. I recommend checking out American hernia society and finding a surgeon close to you to consult with. That is a great group.

Thank you for your question. The images suggest a significant diastasis of the rectus muscles. I think this is the problem rather than visceral fat. In general, visceral fat accumulation in women occurs when the BMI is around 30 or above, which is not your situation.
