I have large cholesterol marks on & under both eyes. are these able to be removed on the NHS?

Cholesterol deposits around the eyes are often called xanthelasma. A percentage of these patients also have high cholesterol so I would recommend to get a blood test as well todetermine this if it is not known. Sometimes removing these can be covered by insurance. These can be removed either by surgery and/ or laser treatment. Surgery does not prevent new deposits from forming, however. An oculoplastics specialist is experienced in removal of these around  the eyes.
