Revision after mini TT with umbilical float options? (Photo)

Question

I’m 35, 5’3”, 120lbs. I had a mini TT, with lower muscle repair, and umbilical float. I am 9mpo and my stomach is hard and bulges more now than my skin laxity did before surgery. I don’t fit comfortably in my clothes Bc of the large pot belly I’m left with. Are there any options to resolve my concerns?

It’s not a good idea to partially tighten the muscle wall. Either do it stem to stern or leave it alone.

If you want to have a tight flat abdomen you need muscle tightening up to your rib cage.

Unfortunately with a floating belly button you cannot convert the procedure to a full tummy tuck with belly button repositioning. It should be possible but technically more difficult to perform muscle tightening up to the rib cage. Normally this is made a little easier because we remove all the skin all the way up to the belly button position when doing a full tummy tuck. Once you’ve committed to a floating belly button it needs to stay where it is.

Perhaps a technical explanation. If you want a flat abdominal wall you’ll need muscle tightening from your pubic bone to your rib cage.

If you go in for in person second opinions make sure they are aware that you had a floating belly button.

If an umbilical repositioning is attempted after someone had a floating belly button they will lose their belly button.
