Ten days after CO2/Erbium laser, my upper lip has nerve damage. Is this temporary and when will it resolve?

Had CO2/Erbium laser on periorbital area and upper lip. I had Fraxel Restore on whole face and Ulthera on lower face and neck. Here it is ten days later and my upper lip has nerve damage and still does not move right. I see it when I go to suck on a straw. I hope and presume this is temporary.

This is likely just nerve swelling called neuropraxia that can be improved with oral steroids and oral diuretics.  It may take up to 3 months to resolve.  Please speak to your treating physician.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hello.  Is it possible that you also had a neurotoxin (like Botox) placed in your upper lip during your procedure?  This complaint of inability to form "O" sounds or a tight seal with your lips is a very common, albeit temporary, problem after Botox in this zone.  In contrast, I have never seen (or heard of) nerve damage after CO2 resurfacing.  Of course, if you have questions please make sure to ask your doctor.  Hope that helped!
