I'm 6 weeks post op and I hate my results. My surgeon had told me he would perform a lollipop lift and 300cc implants, but upon waking up from surgery he had decided that the lift was not necessary and only put the implants. At first it looked OK but now that the swelling is gone my breasts are sagging and my nipples are too low and the overall shape of my breasts is just ugly. Should I ask for a revision?

Answer: Breast augmentation results Your situation is complex, and if your surgeon did not fulfill the agreed upon procedure, then there is a breach of contract. To make an assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure we need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. If you paid your surgeon to do the breast lift, then perhaps you should have them do the lift, though avoiding the breast lift. Breast augmentation outcomes is generally based on three variables. The first is the patient’s candidacy for the procedure, the second is the choice of implants, and the third is the skill and experience of the provider, placing the implants in the anatomic correct position. Sometimes implants need time to settle in and stretch the tissues in order to get the final outcome and patients should be careful and judging outcomes too soon. Based on the pictures you’ve included, it looks like you’re right on the verge of being able to have an augmentation without a lift. Some patients are very sensitive to having scars on their breast and prefer a more natural look. I suggest you go back and discuss your concerns with your provider. If you’re not getting the care you need then schedule in person second opinion consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
