For how long should I apply sunscreen after microdermabrasion when going outside?

sunscreen should be used daily with oral heliocare, microderm does very little to irritate the skin. start with EMERAGESKIN fusion shield and then use ISDIN sunscreen when out by pool or in sun. I suggest
at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules weekly, see link) should be started now to prevent further aging.

For facial rejuvenation, I would suggest a combination approach of
1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling
2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors
3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium
4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill
5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting
6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest
7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin
8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months)

First, always listen to the recommendation of your physician or esthetician providing the service. The rule of thump, is to always apply a sunscreen daily. This should be part of your daily regimen. There are so many amazing SPFs on the market. Always look for an SPF of 30+. There are sunscreen that also provide protection of IR and blue light. It's not just a protection from UVA/UVB.

We recommend all our patients to wear sunscreen on a daily basis even if they have not come in for a procedure, in order to keep your skin healthy and protected from the sun. Therefore we recommend you to wear sunscreen everyday but for a minimum of about 2 weeks after getting a microdermabrasion treatment done.

In our practice we recommend that everyone apply sunscreen every day to protect the skin from damage. However, if you have just had a treatment such as Microneedling, Microdermabrasion, or Clear and Brilliant laser, then it is recommended to wait 24 hours so the sunscreen doesn’t get caught in the pores. Sunscreen is essential to block out the harmful UV rays from the sun that over time lead to skin damage, wrinkles, pigmentation, and in some cases cancer. After any kind of skin resurfacing treatment it is imperative to use sunscreen, after the initial 24 hours post-treatment, because the outermost protective layer of the skin has been disrupted and the harmful light can penetrate more easily and deeply. We would recommend for our patients that they also wear a hat or stay out of the sun for at least a week or two. Skin damage from sun exposure may not appear until later in life but the damage is occurring if proper means of protection are not taken, and it will continue to build and worsen. Prevention is key because once the damage is done it cannot be completely undone.
