I really want some definition in my chin. I am 47 years old and don’t want to cause lax skin. I don’t really want the down time of lipo. What would be best?
Answer: SculpSure Thank you for your question. Both are very effective at creating a more refined chin and jawline. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine which procedure will work better for you. Best wishes,

Answer: ThermiTight for Neck/Jowls A series of treatments of Kybella and SculpSure can produce effective results in the neck and jowl area but if you are looking for a quick and minimally invasive treatment you should also consider ThermiTight. ThermiTight uses radiofrequency energy to tighten loose skin and stimulate collagen production. The RF energy is placed into the deeper dermal layers without the need for incisions. Instead, a small probe is inserted into the treatment area, which delivers precise thermal energy to the underlying dermal structure, resulting in constriction of tissue and collagen production for results you can see immediately that get better and better with time. A ThermiTight procedure can be done in our office under local anesthesia, requires only one treatment to achieve optimal results and the recovery/downtime is minimal. As always, you should seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience with all of the above mentioned procedures to see which procedure is best for you. A good surgeon will be happy to explain all of the options and help guide you in the decision making process. Best of luck!

Answer: Kybella or Sculpsure? Double chin treatment Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. Kybella is best for patients that: 1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take months Kybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Neck Liposuction is best for patients that: 1) Want a single treatment 2) One recovery time- Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3) Less painful 4) Quicker results 5) Cost is a concern Neck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake. It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks. The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients.

Answer: Kybella Results--add thermage, ultherapy, exilis, VASER, ThermiRF, J plasma, Renuvion, Inmode BodyTite Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend a combination approach with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is the best alternative for contouring the chin and can be performed with a neck lift, if you're a candidate. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Sculpsure be Kybella from patients of mine that have had both procedures, they’ve all said Kybella was “painful during and after procedure” and that SculpSure is just “a little uncomfortable during the 25 minute treatment.” They have also said that they were not happy with the results of their Kybella treatment, hence why they got SculpSure. From a physician’s/provider’s perspective, since you are also concerned about skin laxity being created after the fat reduction, I would recommend SculpSure as the heating of the fat cells will also heat the subcutaneous tissue causing micro-injuries, which will promote collagen production; this will actually cause some skin tightening. Sculpsure heats up the fat to the point of destruction (42-47 degrees Celsius). TempSure Envi (skin tightening device) heats up an area to no more than 41 degrees Celsius (before the point of fat destruction) so that it only causes micro-injuries to promote collagen production and thus cause skin tightening without fat loss for areas such as the face. So, since SculpSure is similarly heating an area for a sustained period, a pleasant side affect of the fat destruction procedure is some improvement in skin laxity.
