I had my second Sculpsure treatment done. I felt my right arm going numb from the elbow down to the fingertips and had to get the power dialed down from 1.2. Immediately afterwards I couldn't lift my right arm. From above the elbow to the inner top of my forearms was littered with red lines like I had blood vessels rupture. It has been 3 days and my biceps is swollen and hurts if I push on it or bend my elbow. Is it possible my muscles are damaged due to incorrect placement or not enough fat?
Answer: SculpSure Thank you for your question. If you are concerned about the healing progress of your SculpSure, then I would suggest that you consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to review your healing progress and confirm that you do not have any prolonged damage. Best wishes,

Answer: Sculpsure Recovery--Add Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, VASER It's difficult to tell from your picture. You will have swelling which may impede your movement and impinge on the nerves in the arm. However, I recommend following up with your Doctor about your concerns. I suggest lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen, and RF treatments like venus legacy to help reduce any swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Sculpsure targets fat cells Sculpsure does not damage skin, nerves, or muscle. The 1060nm (Sculpsure) laser specifically targets fat cells only. It heats them and destroys them. It bypasses skin and muscle cells so there is no damage to the skin or underlying structures. The laser does not penetrate deep enough to affect the lower structures. Currently Sculpsure is only FDA approved for non-invasive lipolysis of the abdomen, flanks, back, inner thighs, outer thighs and is now available for the submental (under the chin) area. See your provider for further evaluation. Hope this helps.

Answer: Did SculpSure injure muscle in arm? First- you should contact your provider and have the area evaluated. Positioning during arm treatments can be difficult and uncomfortable and could likely have put pressure on a nerve causing numbness and even pain. The SculpSure laser is specific for fat tissue and will not burn skin or muscle. Swelling is common and the area should be gently massaged, ice applied, and arms elevated when possible.

Answer: SculpSure on Arms Was it done while sitting up, or laying flat. I have found that the sitting up position with arms overhead is quite taxing on the patient. Arms often go numb and it can be quite painful. The straps may have been too tight and cut off the circulation during the procedure. Have you contacted the practitioner who performed the procedure? If you do a second round I would ask them to do it while you are laying down instead. Done this way the straps don't have to be quite as tight and I find that my patients are able to tolerate the treatment better.
