Had SculpSure 3 weeks ago on my outer thighs, is it normal to see indentations at applicator site? (photos)

Question

1. Is it normal &/or a good sign to see indentations at applicator site? 2. if applicators were placed 1 inch below the area of concern, will there be "feathering" to reach that area? 3. is it possible to predict at 3 weeks whether I chose the optimal procedure? as opposed to lipo, which i don't want due to recovery, risks, cost. I am having a hard time remaining optimistic. 4. Can you describe why it takes 6-12 weeks for results to show? what is the process of necrosis? Thank you!

You will have swelling which may impede be causing the indentations you're seeing. However, I recommend following up with your Doctor about your concerns. I suggest lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen, and RF treatments like venus legacy to help reduce any swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. ReportThe frames sometimes due leave a slight or faint mark because of the  pillowing effect.  The Pillowing support  to have a good application of the laser.  The faint mark is not permanent and should go away within a few days.  
You can lose up to 24% of the fat with Sculpsure laser.  This laser is non invasive and therefore requires time to injure then destroy the targeted fat cells.  The fat cells then drain through the body's lymphatic (drainage system). 
You will not see results after 3 weeks; The drainage takes time and the  results should be seen by you after the first 6 weeks treatment but the best result is after 12 weeks after your second session as  the fat cells who have been destroyed will then have had a chance to leave your system.

Thanks for the great questions.1. It is normal to see some indents from the treatment areas as this is a great sign that it is working.  This can happen due to active destruction of fat cells that is going on and the swelling to the area. 
2. In general the feathering effect goes about 3 cm from the applicator to make the area treated a smoother transition.  If you are intending to treat all those areas then you may need to add more applicators as that area will not be treated as well as the directly targeted areas. 
3. In order to know if you picked the right procedure depends on your expectations.  You will not know the final outcome until week 12. It is recommended for optimal result to have 2-3 session in each area. The results of SculpSure are for people who want spot sculpting -if you want dramatic fat reduction (50-60%) then lipo is another option. As you stated with liposuction, recovery and after care are necessary. The benefits of SculpSure, there are no incision sites and down time. 
4. The process of necrosis is where the fat cells burst and the fat liquefies.  It takes time for the body to clear the ruptured cell contents via your lymphatic system.

First it is common for the frames to leave a faint imprint due to the pillowing effect that is needed to have a good application of the laser.  This is not permanent but may be visible for a few days.  The laser does have a feathering effect of about 3 cm so that areas surrounding the frames will also have destruction of fat cells.  This provides a more uniform result. The effect of the Sculpsure laser on fat cells requires time to injure then destroy the affected cells follow3ed by the body's lymphatic or drainage system to clear the inflammation and fluid.  The e4nd result if a loss of fat up to 24 % in the targeted area.  This requires time and the expected results should be evident after at least 6 weeks and full results from both sessions at 12 weeks.  You will not see much at 3 weeks and likely will not see much when you return for your second session but should have great results when you follow with after photos at 12 weeks.  Good Luck!!
