Is it normal to get severe pains 4 weeks post gastric sleeve surgery?

I had gastric sleeve surgery on Sept. 30. Week 1 was panadol, then pain free from week 2. Now after 3 weeks and 4 days i am having sharp, shooting, stab like pains near the site of the largest incision. Is this normal? Is it the nerve endings and the muscles at final infusion stage or should I be worried? I've been resting & getting sleep and at least 60g of protein in. I haven't had a bowl movement for a few days. I'm on soft foods (eggs, fish, ground beef, cottage cheese).

It is never normal to have sever pain as you get farther from your surgical date.  We generally like to see all your pain resolved.  Post operative bowel movement is crucial to remain regular even if your intake is minimal.  Generally constipation is the main cause of pain secondary to continual use of pain meds in addition to a diet that lacks adequate fiber.  Pain at the site of the biggest incision can sometimes be the cause of hernia, especially if you have developed constipation.  Share your concern with your doctor, I am sure it will be addressed accordingly.

Say what?  Nerve endings and the muscles at final infusion stage??????  From where did you get that????  New pain is never normal.  You should check with your doctor.
