Dr. Gabriela Rodríguez Ruiz, MD, FACS is a bariatric surgeon with over 10 years of experience. At VIDA Wellness and Beauty in Tijuana, Mexico, she specializes in bariatric surgery procedures, including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, gastric plication, duodenal switch, and revision surgery. Licensed in both the United States and Mexico, she has performed over 5,000 surgeries.

Dr. Ruiz received her medical degree from the School of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Baja California in Tijuana, Mexico. She went on to complete an internship at the Texas Medical Center and completed her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Cardiovascular Investigation Center of The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases (IMM) at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Dr. Ruiz is an international fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a founding associate of the Mexican College of General Surgeons.
