I have a lump in my lower lip after injury. What treatment would you recommend to have it back the way before?

This is likely to have resulted from either a cyst in your lip or bulky scar tissue. This can be confirmed with an examination. If the issue is scar tissue, I would typically start with injection treatments to try to reduce the volume of scar tissue. If that fails or a cyst is present a small in office procedure could be performed to remove the bulk of tissue that is distorting your lip. Depending on your examination, steroid injections may be helpful for scar tissue in your lip after trauma. Some of these bumps may need to be excised, depending on your examination. Lip scars tend to heal well. Dr Joseph

The lump you feel is typically scar tissue after trauma.  The treatment can be a variety of methods including excision of scar, kenalog, and possibly using filler around the scar.  Best of luck.

We'd need to determine the cause of the lump, but likely it is simply scar tissue and surgical revision is often quite helpful. That said, injecting cortisone into the scar tissue can also be helpful in some cases, so get assessed by your local dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

The most important factor here is for someone to determine what the lump is from and then determine the proper treatment plan to restore your lip as close to what it was before. Is it a scar? If so, the scar can be treated with injectable steroids or perhaps a laser procedure. Is there something in there? If so, it might need a surgical procedure. So make sure a dermatologist or plastic surgeon sees you and determines the proper plan for you.
