Each patient is unique and previous #results are not a guarantee for individual outcomes. As with all cosmetic surgery, results will be rewarding if expectations are realistic. With any surgical procedure, there are some risks which your doctor will discuss with you during your consultationThere are three types of surgical treatment options available that treat #gynecomastia. Your board-certified plastic surgeon will recommend the type best suited for you. Three options exist for surgery. Smaller procedures can actually be done in the office with light oral sedation. Adolescents frequently do better with a light general #anaesthetic.Twilight or IV sedation are another great choice. All procedures are outpatient either in the office or a certified outpatients surgery facility.Bruising and #swelling are normal and usually increase slightly after the removal of any tape or foam. The bruising will decrease over 3-4 weeks, but may last as long as 6 weeks. The majority of the swelling will be gone within the first 3-4 weeks. However, it may take 6-9 weeks to disappear completely. Also, as you heal, the area may feel “lumpy” and irregular. This, too, decreases with time, and massaging these areas will help soften the scar tissue. The #compression garment helps reduce the swelling, and the longer it is worn, the more quickly you will #heal. It can also assist in the retraction of the skin. Additionally, your doctor may place tape or foam over the incisions, which can be removed on day 3 or 4, before your first post-op appointment.Usually 1 week after #gynecomastia surgery you can begin taking moderate walks or ride a stationary bike. Strenuous workouts or aerobic #exercise can begin around 4 weeks post-op. Please get approval from your doctor before you begin any workout regimen.
Hi there,The recovery time depends on the method used.At my clinic where we do liposuction and gland excison together, the plaster removal is done after 48 hours and you have to wear a compression garment immediately.after that you are fit to travel(fly) provided you do not carry any heavy weightsusual post operative problems may be a hematoma or seroma which are very rare if instructions are follwed carefullybest of luck
Thank you for your question. Without knowing the details of your gynecomastia surgery, it is hard to say how soon you will be able to travel. If it's a minor or standard gyne surgery, your surgeon may allow you to travel within a few days. My biggest concern with my gyne patients is the carrying/lifting of luggage. If this can be avoided, it will help reduce the chance of any post-op problems such as hematoma, tension on the incisions, etc. My patients do wear a compression garment following surgery, which helps prevent post-op issues, however too much lifting and use of the arms too soon after surgery can still cause issues. If you have selected your plastic surgeon, he/she should be able to tell you when you can safely travel after surgery. If you are still interviewing surgeons, be sure to ask these questions, so you can properly plan and prepare.
Thank you for your question and if you are undergoing excision a drain may be used and this will have to be removed and a check made for a seroma later. But check with your surgeon as he should be the best source of informationDr Corbin
The chances are you will be wearing some type of compression garment and I also asked my patients to keep ice packs on under that for several days. You should be able to travel within a day or two. Your doctor will give you some very specific restrictions regarding heavy exercise and I strongly
