While I understand that asymmetry is normal, I find that one side of my face has a lot less volume than the other side. It looks almost "crooked" as it impacts my nose and lips as well. Additionally, I have a square jaw/chin where those parts of my face almost seem like that are in line with each other. I love the look or a more feminine heart shaped face. What kind of procedure (surgical or non surgical) would help me get my desired results?
Answer: Achieving Facial Symmetry: Exploring Surgical and Non-Surgical Options Facial asymmetry is quite common, and there are several options, both surgical and non-surgical, that can help enhance facial symmetry and achieve a more balanced appearance. Here are some procedures to consider: Non-Surgical Options: Dermal Fillers: Fillers can be used to add volume to specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks, jawline, and lips, to improve symmetry and create a more heart-shaped appearance. Botox: Botox can help relax specific muscles to alter facial contours subtly, which may help in balancing asymmetries. Thread Lift: This minimally invasive procedure can lift and reposition sagging skin, enhancing facial symmetry and contour. Surgical Options: Facial Implants: Chin or cheek implants can provide more permanent solutions for enhancing facial symmetry and achieving a desired facial shape. Rhinoplasty: If your nose contributes to facial asymmetry, rhinoplasty can reshape it for better balance with other facial features. Jawline Contouring: Surgical contouring can reshape the jawline and chin to create a more feminine and heart-shaped appearance. Facelift: A facelift can tighten and reposition facial tissues, enhancing symmetry and overall facial harmony. Consultation: It's essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist who specializes in facial aesthetics. They can provide a comprehensive assessment of your facial structure and discuss the best options to achieve your desired results. A personalized treatment plan will be based on your specific needs, goals, and any underlying anatomical considerations.

Answer: Facial contours From the submitted photos you appear to be a good candidate for Botox and fillers to address facial asymmetry. Botox can be used to soften the appearance of the jawline when it is injected into the masseter muscles. Fillers of various viscosities can be used to soften the look of deeper folds and to contour the face including cheek and nasolabial fold area as well as the jawline.

Answer: RE: What kind of procedure would help "fix" my face shape/asymmetry? Hello, this is Dr. Hong from Fresh Clinic in Seoul, South Korea. Facial asymmetry is often related to the underlying bone structure, which is why many people consider bone-related surgeries. However, if you're looking for a less invasive option, facial fat transfer may help improve the appearance of asymmetry. With facial fat transfer, there is no need to alter the bones, making it a significantly less invasive procedure compared to other treatments. It also carries a lower risk of allergic reactions compared to implants or fillers, as we use your own fat.

Answer: A Nonsurgical HA Filler Cheek Augmentation For A More Feminine, HeartShaped Face You can relax. The problem here is quite commonly treated in any active, cosmetic dermatology practice. A nonsurgical filler cheek augmentation employing a robust HA volumizing filler in the hands of an expert filler expert can quite easily achieve greater symmetry and a more oval, heartshaped face. Properly performed, the lift in the cheeks achieved in this way will likely also diminish the squaring of the lower face. It will also likely diminish the smile lines and to some extent the incipient marionette lines at the angles of the mouth. Properly performed, this should take no more then ten or fifteen minutes with immediate results and little to no significant downtime. My very skeptical last patient of this past week was delighted and exclaimed, "Wow!" when I did precisely the above for her. Hope this helps and best of luck.
