I would like to address the skin laxity and fat under my chin (I want a snatched jawline). I have been told Ultherapy is a waste of money for me & I should get VASER lipo instead. I want the skin tightening and fat reduction that vaser offers but am worried about lumpiness/uneven result and incision scars (under my chin and behind my ears). Could I get a good result from CoolSculpting instead? What could be the best options for me (preferably without having a lift)? Thank you
Answer: No cool sculpting I would stay away from cool sculpting. The risks of paradoxical fatty cell hyperplasia is too high. My opinion is paying a little extra for submental liposuction with renuvion would provide you with excellent results. You can use Vaser as well, but anyone that does liposuction with some sort of energy can give you great results. Always be sure to ask for current before and after pictures during consult. The good news is you are not a complex case and as long as your surgeon has experience the likelihood you would get any contour deformities is very low.

Answer: VASER neck liposuction comparison Neck CoolSculpting Neck VASER liposuction best neck liposuction treatment neck lipo expert Thank you for your question regarding which technique is better for treating your neck. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Let's compare the techniques. VASER is an acronym and stands for Vibration Amplified Sound Energy at Resonance. The VASER uses ultrasonic energy to melt the neck fat and heat the neck skin for maximum skin contractility. VASER liposuction is performed by placing a small incision behind your chin. Sometimes, two incisions are also placed behind your earlobes. Incisions are about the size of an eraser. The procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes. After the procedure, you will have to wear a chin strap for the first week all the time. During the second week, you'll have to wear a chinstrap for 12 hours during the day. Most of the neck fat will be permanently eliminated. Most of the neck swelling is gone at 6 to 8 weeks after VASER neck liposuction. VASER neck liposuction is relatively painless, but you may have to take pain medication for the first two or three days. It is exceedingly rare that you will have lumpiness or unevenness VASER neck Lipo. A plastic surgeon usually performs VASER neck liposuction. In contrast, Cool Sculpting uses a different technology called cryotherapy. Cryotherapy freezes the fat cells, and the fat cells die. Cool Sculpting is painful compared to VASER liposuction. Also, it may be difficult for Cool Sculpting to access the neck area. Cool Sculpting is known for the dreaded complication of creating excessive scar tissue. With Cool Sculpting, you may need multiple revisions. Cool Sculpting is usually performed by a technician, aesthetician, or nurse, not a plastic surgeon. Therefore, most experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons would recommend VASER neck liposuction for you. VASER neck liposuction will obtain the best results. For your neck, most experienced plastic surgeons would not suggest you waste your money on Cool Sculpting. I hope my answer has helped answer the question of which technology is better for treating your neck, namely, VASER or Cool Sculpting. Good luck. When seeking surgical procedures, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in neck VASER liposuction techniques. Experience is important. Presenting many before and after pictures can guarantee your chosen plastic surgeon's experience. When consulting your plastic surgeon, ask for many before and after pictures. Sincerely, J. Timothy Katzen, MD
