Tummy tuck scar treatments EMatrix or silicone sheets? (photos)

Question

So it's been a year exactly from my surgery and I'm finally back from a recent deployment so now I can't treat it and I was wondering has anyone ever hear of patients using EMatrix to rid their tummy tuck scars and it will silicone sheeting be just as good and if so what brand?? I want to pretty much make it look like I never had one. I'm not a fan of the scar kinda makes me feel self conscious.

There are reasons to do fractional laser and reasons to do Ematrix for your scars. In addition, you may need some liposuction to even out the soft tissue fullness in your abdominal flap. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Thank you for your inquiry.  The type of scarring you have does not appear that it would be responsive to silicone sheeting.  I typically would recommend ablative fractional resurfacing for treatment of the scar of this nature.  I do use ematrix extensively for treatment of acne scarring.I would suggest obtaining an opinion from someone who has significant expertise in treating scars.

I do a combination of lasers for these types of scars, although co2 laser is prob the most effective, it has a lot of downtime.  Ematrix works great for acne scars but takes many treatments for body and other surgical scars.  I suggest seeing a laser expert for treatments or at least for a formal consultation. These scars are too deep for effective response with sublative RF bipolar treatments. Fractional lasers would be more effective.

First step is fractional CO2 lasers, you will need 3 treatments or more. Downtime or recovery of 2 weeks. I do like eMatrix, but I think it s role is for early and mild acne scarring.
