Is my scarring normal for 3 weeks after lower eye bag blepharoplasty? (Photos)

Should my eyes feel normal now and what should the scars look like? I began applying twice a day contralubex on recommendation of my surgeon and massage it in.

for blepharoplasty
surgeries in
three weeks after a surgery. Recovery
period of blepharoplasty surgeries is 3-4 months. I do not think it
is a worrying situation. Your surgeon can perform appropriate
treatments by evaluating

It takes about a year for the scarring after a blepharoplasty surgery to fully mature and fade. The state of your scar is quite normal for 3 weeks after surgery. Management and care is important during the healing process. Avoiding sun exposure and proper nutrition is also important. You can also use topical aids recommended to you by your surgeon.

Based on the photos, the scar does appear to be as expected at 3 weeks post-op. The pink coloration generally fades away with time. I advise my patients it may take 1 year for the scar to fully mature.

Based on the photo, you are indeed healing well. You are still early in the healing process and what you are seeing are not your final results yet. You may still be experiencing swelling and some bruising at this point in time. It usually takes around 3 to 6 months to fully heal and only by then will you be able to see your final results.

Your incision looks exactly like it should three weeks out from surgery. It looks like you have lost the great majority of post-op swelling and bruising too. Your incisions are going to go through a series of changes over the year long healing process. Initially they may look very inconspicuous, but as the healing process continues they tend to get raised, ropy, and pink right around the three to four week period. This is normal as the body is busy laying down collagen (raised and ropy) and bringing in new blood vessels to supply the nutrients (pink). All of these features will subside over the upcoming months as your body organizes the collagen and gets rid of the excess blood vessels. I would suggest not worrying much about it, putting some make-up over the incision to cover the pink, and get out there and live your life, you look great :). I hope this helps, good luck!!
