Answer: Consult with options Thank you for your question. You are in your very early healing stages, so are your nerves. This is possibly your nerves reaction to your surgery. However it may also be a mild contact allergy. Make sure you inform your surgeon. For now you can pick up over the counter topical steroids. Answer: Itching after breast augmentation As others have outlined, it is most likely that the itching that you are experiencing is a result of nerve stretch injury during your procedure. If so, this should be a temporary condition that ultimately resolves. However, it is best to be evaluated by your surgeon, as there are other conditions that potentially would contribute to this.

Answer: Itchy burning skin 5 weeks post breast implants. What could this be? The burning sensation is not uncommon after surgery. These are caused by your severed nerves. This should resolve on its own as your nerves regenerate. As to the itching sensation, this may be an irritation probably from the dressing on your incision or the bra that you are using. The best course of action would be to consult directly with your surgeon for a prescription of appropriate topical cream

Answer: Itchy burning skin after breast implant Thank you for the question. You should see your surgeon to discuss why your skin is itching. They will discuss with you any topicals (lotions or scar care) that you may be using that may be causing this. If you are not using anything on your skin it may be the nerves healing and some inflammation. There are different medications that may help this.

Answer: Burning skin after augmentation It's unusual to have this type of sensation, but not unheard of. Generally if you've had these symptoms since your surgery then most likely it's due to irritation of nerves due to the trauma of surgery. If this is new, then your doctor needs to be aware of possible infection. If it's nerve pain, then it will go away with time. Sometimes your doctor can prescribe Gabapentin which may ease the discomfort of nerve pain. Please check with your surgeon.
