How can Picoway be used to treat Melasma?

Question

I have Read that Picoway Resolve is for Rejuvinating works for Wrinkle and Acne scar and Zoom is for Pigmention. I have a dime size of Melasma on both side of cheeks. I am confused which hand Peice to use for treating Melasma? Picoway Resolve/Zoom or both what wavelength and parameters. Thanks

Shashnani  Hello thank you for the question.  An in person consultation is necessary to determine your best course of action.  I personally use the Picoway resolve for now downtime pigment and skin maturity issues.  The Resolve can have very good results with melasma depending upon numerous factors : genetics, depth, current sun damage etc.  Melasma needs to be treated with multiple modalities including microneedling ,  skin ceuticals ( or comparable) directed products.

Melasma needs a combination approach to get the best improvement and will need a series of treatments. In our practice, we combine Clear + Brilliant, peels, microneedling/PRP, Aerolase, and sometimes Erbium (Cool Laser) to get the best results. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer

In all honesty, it depends on the depth of the melasma. Sometimes we use the Resolve handpiece, and sometimes the Zoom. Both are effective depending upon where the depth of the melasma lies. It is necessary to pre-treat with HQ as well, and to cool the skin immediately post treatment to avoid excessive heat and the possibility of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. We've had amazing success treating pigment and melasma with PicoWay. It's the best I've seen but it does take time and persistence. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
