Hello, I have always had misaligned eyes, it seems that this one is more open than the other, I wonder if it has a solution? Next month I have an examination but I would like to get some information beforehand. Thanks for your help
Answer: More information needed Your photograph is limited but it appears that your eyebrow is lower on one side and may contribute to your deformity. More photographs are needed to give a more accurate answer. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Facial asymmetry During embryological development, the two sides of the face develop independently from each other. This causes the face to have inherent asymmetry. The asymmetry in your eyes is based a skeletal structure with your left eye socket sitting higher in your skull than your right side. This is true for most people. There’s no treatment for this and your facial appearance is normal. The human brain is accustomed to seeing facial asymmetry as being normal. All people have facial asymmetry. If you look at computer generated symmetrical faces you may recognize they have an odd and unfamiliar appearance. This is because you’ve never seen a person with a symmetrical face. All people have facial asymmetry. Because it’s normal, we typically don’t recognize it. Do you see your friends and family as having facial symmetry? Most likely not. If you look at them critically, you will see that everybody has it. Even classic work of arts from the past has included facial asymmetry because great artists recognize that this is the human form. People are either left-handed or right handed. All internal organs are placed asymmetrically. There is really nothing symmetrical about the human body or face. attractiveness is not based on symmetry at all. Aesthetics are based on balance, not symmetry. I suggest you cancel your upcoming appointment if it’s for the purpose of assessing your normal asymmetry. Some plastic surgeons are of the understanding that facial symmetry is some kind of aesthetic ideal. In my opinion, this is an incorrect understanding of the human form and of facial aesthetics.
