Had surgery 18 months ago. Apparently I have thick skin. Nose looks ok from one side but from the other it looks witchy it seems like it’s swelling in photos but it hasn’t gone down at all i press it and it’s hard. I want to know if this is final result or if there actually is still swelling, just want honest answer.

Answer: Postop Rapl, 18 months continued swelling? Very nice looking series of photos but at two sharper angles in without a solid color background and poor front view. Best to repost photos taken with a background that’s one color front view oblique view, side view. But appears you have reached your final swelling at one year and now that you’re 18 months it is not swelling it is the final result. Appears your nasal bones are still wide and there might be a super tip deformity? Best virtual consult with. Revision fee $18,000-$30,000..

Answer: Rhinoplasty outcome Most plastic surgeons, consider rhinoplasty results to be final at 12 months. In reality the results are very very close to final sooner than that. If you want an assessment on the outcome of your notes, I suggest posting proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward, the ones they took. All tissues will have some swelling in them. This is called interstitial fluid. It represents serum that leaks from capillaries and is absorbed in the lymphatic vascular system, and it eventually mixed in with the Venus blood on the vena cava through lymphatic vessels. At 18 months you’re outcome is very much final and is not going to change based on waiting further. Without describing what your concern is or including comparison, before, and after pictures, we can’t really address any of your concerns other than to tell you that your results are final. Some plastic surgeons are notorious for kicking the can down the road and telling people to wait and hurry up and wait and wait some more. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
